About Teaching Channel

Location: Remote, available from anywhere within the U.S.

Travel: Up to four times per year for team retreats, planning sessions, or other business-related events, with accommodations provided as needed.

Expected Hours:

This position generally follows standard office hours. There is potential for a seasonal rotating call schedule, where team members each assume proportional shifts for customer support, which may include occasional weekends.

The Opportunity

At Teaching Channel, the Professional Learning Specialist plays a lead role in developing graduate-level continuing education courses, with a focus on expanding the content area expertise of the Curriculum and Instruction team. The Professional Learning Specialist independently designs, writes, and manages curriculum projects, aligning course content with professional learning standards and the organization?s strategic goals. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to advancing key curriculum projects and driving organizational success. The Professional Learning Specialist reports to the Director, Curriculum and Instruction.

What You?ll Do
? Design and create high-quality continuing education courses for educators.
? Independently develop course content, including lesson plans, templates, and supplementary materials, aligned with brain-based learning principles.
? Manage curriculum development projects and ensure timely delivery of course content.
? Collaborate strategically with team leadership to align course offerings with organizational goals and market demand.
? Provide peer review for colleagues developing course content.
? Ensure compliance with professional learning standards and instructional best practices.
? Provide customer support to educators enrolled in courses.
? Create educational content, including curriculum and course materials, which may include on-camera introductions, voiceovers, and author promos to provide credibility and personal expertise to the learning materials, as appropriate or preferred.
? Other Duties: Support the team with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to help meet evolving organizational goals and objectives.

Qualifications
? Master?s degree in education or a related field.
? 5+ years of K-12 classroom teaching experience.
? Experience in leading and promoting culturally and linguistically responsive teaching.
? Experience mentoring and/or leading professional development initiatives for peers, demonstrated through formal or informal leadership roles such as department head, team lead, mentor, or equivalent.
? Proven ability to lead and manage curriculum development projects independently, including creating learning content aligned with educational standards and principles of brain-based learning, while effectively managing multiple deadlines and project priorities.
? Advanced knowledge in science, technology, and/or mathematics education preferred.
? Expertise in instructional technologies, including Google Suite, and familiarity with educational tools and platforms.

Compensation Range

The compensation range for this position is $73,000 - $90,000.
