Technical Sales Engineer, Chillers and Chilled Water Systems GSA (REMOTE)

About the position The Technical Sales Engineer - Chilled Water is responsible for supporting chiller equipment sales in assigned Global Strategic Accounts (GSA) and other opportunities as assigned. This support primarily consists of customer presentations, leading specific sales opportunities, and delivery of technical training on chillers and chilled water systems. Responsibilities • Support GSA Account Managers in design discussions to establish Vertiv as basis of design and with project strategy to increase win rates on critical to close projects. • Maintain consistent relationships with key engineering firms within assigned territory and track Vertiv performance. • Monitor GSA account performance and implement gap plans to address weaknesses in specific local offices. • Actively participate in customer visits through presentations and entertainment. • Participate as needed in account planning efforts and engagement strategies for key clients. • Represent Vertiv at industry conferences, seminars, and customer presentations. • Stay updated on evolving industry trends, materials, and technologies to maintain Vertiv's competitive edge. • Provide industry feedback to product managers for product improvements and roadmaps. • Provide escalation support for customer requests not addressable by local sales teams. • Mentor early career Vertiv employees within technical sales team. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field of study (or equivalent combination of education and experience). • 8+ years of industry technical experience. • Technical knowledge of mechanical building systems and applications. • Ability to discuss air-cooled, water-cooled and heat recovery chillers with mechanical design engineers. • Deep market dynamics and industry knowledge. • Proven track record of influencing engineering accounts. • Experience working with rep sales offices. • Salesmanship and self-confidence to deal with stressful customer relationship issues. • Excellent presentation skills. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate technical challenges into actionable plans.
