About the Position: The Manager, Leave of Absence & Accommodations is responsible for overseeing the administration of employee leave programs and workplace accommodations in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. This role ensures a consistent, legally compliant, and employee-focused approach to managing leaves such as FMLA, ADA, short- and long-term disability, and personal leaves. The manager serves as a subject matter expert, leads a team of specialists, and partners with HR, legal, payroll, and external vendors to support employees through their leave and accommodation journeys. Responsibilities: 1. Lead and develop a team of leave and accommodation specialists. 2. Set strategic priorities for leave and accommodation programs aligned with organizational goals. 3. Oversee vendor relationships and third-party administrators for leave and accommodation services. 4. Ensure compliance with laws including FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, COBRA, and state-specific regulations. 5. Serve as the escalation point for complex leave and accommodation cases. 6. Monitor and audit leave cases for accuracy and compliance. 7. Provide guidance and education to employees and managers on leave policies and procedures. 8. Develop, update, and maintain leave and accommodation policies, SOPs, and training materials. 9. Implement new programs and process improvements to enhance service delivery and compliance. 10. Prepare reports on leave metrics, trends, and budget impacts. 11. Use data to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions. 12. Partner with HR, legal, payroll, and business leaders to resolve issues and ensure alignment. 13. Interface with consultants, vendors, and carriers as needed. ---------------------- Scope: Interpret and administer policies, process, and procedures that may affect sections and subordinate units. ---------------------- Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree required. Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Skills & Abilities: Ability to work on a team. Travel: May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout chapter jurisdiction, state and Red Cross system. • Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted). PAY INFORMATION: The annual salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed.
