Laboratory Systems Specialist

Job Title: NuGenesis LMS SpecialistJob Description The NuGenesis LMS Specialist is responsible for evaluating and improving the laboratory management system used by the Laboratory Services business unit. This role involves collecting and analyzing data to identify and implement effective solutions, developing, configuring, and customizing the system, and collaborating with various departments to understand requirements and maintain data integrity. Responsibilities • Perform data analysis to support requirements and initiatives. • Present data with concise recommendations for resolving simple and complex problems. • Monitor system health and user adoption post-implementations. • Understand adverse trends or unusual patterns. • Support system upgrades and patches, including impact assessments for customizations. • Participate in validation activities and provide subject matter expert support during change management processes. • Define roles, set access controls, and implement security measures to ensure regulatory compliance. • Configure workflows, customize ELN templates, automate data capture, and establish retention policies. • Serve as a liaison between end users, leaders, IT team, and vendor. • Author operational and administrative procedures, instructions, and knowledge base articles to ensure effective systems operations. • Support escalated help requests via ticket system courteously and professionally. • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges and unexpected behavior independently. • Triage and escalate problems when required. • Provide exceptional customer service and follow up on incidents and issues when needed. Essential Skills • Proficiency in Waters Smart Builder or advanced Excel tools. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy. • Understanding of virtual clients such as VMware, Citrix, etc. • Exceptional written and oral communication skills. • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills. • Ability to learn quickly and provide end user support. • Familiarity with software development lifecycle and GAMP 5 guidelines. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Expert in leveraging advanced Excel functions, pivot tables, and macros. • Deep understanding of regulated laboratory workflows, GxP compliance, and data integrity principles. • Proficient in designing and customizing ELN templates and workflows. • Skilled in configuring and supporting LIMS platforms. • Experienced in implementing and maintaining ELN systems. • Familiarity with Smartbuilder, SQL, RESTful/SOAP APIs, Lab Instrument Scripting, jasperreports. • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience. • 4+ years' experience supporting an ELN system. • 2+ years of experience in a GxP regulated setting. • Experience using or supporting laboratory/scientific software systems and processes preferred. Work Environment The position offers fully remote or hybrid flexibility. The working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. There is a likely extension after a six-month assignment with a possibility of conversion to a full-time employee. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Durham, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
