Role Description Abstracts clinical information from a variety of medical records, charts and documents and assigns appropriate ICD-10 and/or CPT-4 codes to patient records according to established procedures. • Works with coding databases and confirms DRG assignments • Inputs and maintains data on procedures required for state or other reporting • Works with a coding manager and coding team • Works under moderate supervision • Has attained full proficiency in multiple specialties of discipline • Typically requires 4+ years of related experience and may include additional credentials • Performs coding on multiple specialties with proficiency Qualifications • May require an associate degree • Requires AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or AHIMA RHIT or CCS Requirements • 4+ years of related experience • Additional credentials may be required Benefits • Innovative solutions that create real value by supporting both the financial and clinical sides of healthcare delivery • Part of a remote team that’s encouraged to push boundaries and look at things differently • Contribute to supporting providers in delivering the best care possible for their communities
