**Experienced Ocean Product Development Specialist – International Freight Forwarding Industry**

Our team is dedicated to excellence, and we're always looking for talented individuals who share our vision. **Job Summary** As an Ocean Product Development Specialist, you'll play a critical role in supporting the growth of our ocean volumes and enhancing the development of our ocean product. You'll work closely with our MD of Ocean to develop and implement strategies that maximize competitiveness, enhance service, and support adherence to our preferred network. This is a remote job opportunity that offers a competitive salary and benefits package. **Key Responsibilities** * Execute strategies to support the growth of ocean volumes and enhance the development of the ocean product * Work closely with the MD of Ocean to develop and implement pricing programs, review volume targets, and develop an ocean strategy that enhances the effectiveness of sales to achieve expectations of account development and yield enhancement * Communicate both internally and externally to outline strategy, market conditions, and work closely with the MD, Ocean, along with the global trade lane team, sales, and operations to communicate direction and deliverables * Direct and indirect customer contact will be required to promote the ocean product and support sales and operations as needed * Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded * Assist in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity; submit reports as required * Work with the MD, Ocean, along with the regional ocean management team, to promote the ocean product and support sales and operations as needed * Manage annual budget; control, monitor, and report results on a regular basis to achieve budget targets * Work closely with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product **Essential Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree or equivalent * At least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, analyzing ocean rates, and routing * Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus * Familiarity with Microsoft Office apps * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience in ocean carrier operations, including carrier development, pricing, and service analysis * Knowledge of ocean freight forwarding industry trends and market conditions * Experience in developing and implementing pricing programs and strategies * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines **Skills and Competencies** * Strong communication and presentation skills * Excellent business acumen and analytical skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills * Familiarity with Microsoft Office apps * Ability to develop and implement pricing programs and strategies * Strong knowledge of ocean freight forwarding industry trends and market conditions **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** At blithequark, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
