Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement adaptive physical education programs that meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities Assess student progress and adjust instruction to ensure optimal learning outcomes Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, therapists, and support staff, to ensure a comprehensive approach to student education and well-being Design and implement lesson plans that promote physical activity, health, and wellness, while incorporating social and emotional learning strategies Utilize data-driven instruction to inform teaching practices and drive student growth Provide individualized support and accommodations to ensure student access and participation in physical education programs Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to ensure student progress and well-being Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in adaptive physical education Essential Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you must possess: A valid Louisiana teaching certificate with an Adaptive Physical Education endorsement A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in adaptive physical education or a related field Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will possess: A master's degree in adaptive physical education, special education, or a related field Experience working with students with diverse disabilities and needs Knowledge of social and emotional learning strategies and their application in physical education settings Experience with data-driven instruction and assessment Certification in first aid and CPR Skills and Competencies: To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate: Strong knowledge of adaptive physical education principles and practices Ability to design and implement engaging and inclusive physical education programs Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Pinecrest Supports & Services Center, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our staff.
