The midwifery team, while functioning independently with respect to the inpatient and outpatient care of patients (office management, admissions, deliveries, prescribing, discharge) works collaboratively with the faculty of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Reporting structure will be directly to the OB/GYN Department Chair. Applicants must hold a graduate degree in midwifery, hold current certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board, and be capable of offering full-scope midwifery care. A successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal and clinical skills. Fluency in Spanish is desirable, and interest in continuous quality improvement and research will be considered an asset. The salary is competitive. The MetroHealth System is redesigning our campus with an innovative transformation plan to exceed the ever-changing needs of our patients and community programs. This billion-dollar transformation is the largest public construction project in Cuyahoga County and one of the largest in the nation. In November 2022 the MetroHealth community moved into the new hospital, featuring 270 private rooms and new state of the art facilities to support our patients and staff. In January 2023, the new Labor and Delivery and NICU opened. MetroHealth is also a national leader in population health initiatives and improving the social determinants of community health. We invite you to be our partner in this important journey as we strive to transform health care in Northeast Ohio.
